Newstone® has three major components, which are common for good quality natural soils. Two of them are inorganic natural rock types, and one is a natural organic fiber material.
1. Component: Silicon dioxide (Si02), also known as silica, is a natural compound made of silicon (Si) and oxygen (O2). Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recognized silicon dioxide as a safe food additive, as do the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). 2. Component: Aluminium Oxide (Al203), commonly called alumina. It occurs naturally in its crystalline phase. 3. Component: Calcium Oxide (CaO), commonly known as quicklime. which is also used as a food additive. It is usually made by the thermal decomposition of materials such as limestone, or seashells, that contain calcium carbonate. |
